I can still remember the lone little girl in a family of boys sitting in that same centre bench near the front of the chapel. She was always sweet but in my interactions with her over the years she has been so gracious and humble. I had the opportunity to attend a voice recital in her home. I don't remember much but I do remember she sang "Poor Wand'ring One" from Pirates of Penzance. Her coloratura and high notes were awesome. I hadn't ever heard her sing classical repertoire before. Her mom also sang in the recital. When my dad passed away Ashley played the piano for me as I sang "In the Wink of an Eye." Again, such willingness, graciousness and talent. I was always glad to associate with her.
