A Young Woman in Excellence

Created by Liz 11 years ago
I worked as a leader in Young Women's when Ashley was a Laurel. She was the only young woman her age in our ward. As leaders we were always concerned that she needed someone her age and often prayed that a friend would move into the ward for her. Ashley never complained, was always cheerful, and did whatever was asked of her. I remember we used to try to get the girls singing and Ashley had this little soft, timid voice you could barely hear. Imagine my surprise to hear her several years later after lessons and confidence produced the wonderful classical voice we came to love. I don't know if Ashley was never afraid, but I do know that if she was she certainly knew how to plunge in and conquer her fears. She was a beautiful daughter of God and will be missed. I pray the Johnson family will be comforted through this most heart- wrenching trial.
