I have thought about the funeral service since we left. Many of my thoughts were about the people that were attending who watched, listened and especially felt the spirit during the service. Those who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints would have noted the confidence the Johnson family has knowing their daughter and sister Ashley is with God. That same confidence is felt by members of the church many of whom have posted thoughts on this web site. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings comfort to those who stand in need of comfort. We have been promised, “He that keepeth us will not slumber, … nor will he sleep.” “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” Jesus Christ has earned and rightly bears the crown of “Prince of Peace.” I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for those times when Peace comes. I am thankful to the Johnson family for their example. I have come away from this time with a desire to do better and to be better. Thank-you Ashley and all of the Johnson family.
